Irish Breakfast is my and my best friend go-to cocktail when we have to celebrate something or to drink to forget. This is not a “sipping” drink, it’s more like a quick buzz. The “Irish” part of this drink name comes from the fact that the cocktail features Irish cream and Irish whiskey. Also, this cocktail is called “Irish Car Bomb”, why? I don’t even know I read several sources about it and it didn’t make sense. In the bar where we had it, it was called “Irish breakfast” and the name really stuck to me.
Irish breakfast is very popular around the world all the same. It’s a beer and shot cocktail, or rather stout and a shot – you drop a shot glass of Baileys while taking out Irish whiskey into Guinness to make it. Only then you drink it very fast, otherwise, it quickly curdles, which is just not appealing at all.
- 3/4 pint Guinness stout
- 1/2 shot Baileys Irish Cream
- 1/2 shot Jameson Irish Whiskey
Firstly, in one shot glass pour the Baileys Irish Cream and into another shot glassJameson Irish Whiskey. Next, into a beer mug pour Guinness. Let the foam to settle. You have to put shots side by side (as in the photo) that it would hold in a Guinness glass. So, drinking is the funniest part, first, take whiskey shot (Bailey’s shot has to fall into the Guinness ). Drink fast.
