Making homemade hummus is easy and super affordable, the resulting flavor is way better than those which sell at stores. This recipe comes from the Middle East and Greece and it is a perfect healthy alternative for snacks, vegetables with hummus is total yum!
- 900 g canned chickpeas, unsalted, rinsed and drained (or you can boil it for yourself)
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1/2 glass of water
- 1/4 tahini (sesame seed paste)
- 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
- 3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 3/4 tbsp salt
- 1/4 tbsp black pepper
- Add chickpeas and garlic to a food processor and blend it until chopped, then add water. Blend until the texture is smooth.
It is a super easy recipe and you can get creative with it. If you want it chunky you can pour less water, you can add beets for a beautiful pink color or smoked paprika for an extra flavor.
