A nomad is a person or a group of people who migrate all the time, without fixed habitation or just people who travel around without settled place where they live. If you worked as a any type of specialist for the past 5 years or so, maybe you could do some consultations online, write about it or offer online teaching. Just open new possibilities in your life.

Why you should try being a digital nomad?

I personally love living a digital nomad lifestyle. It opened my eyes that it is way more in life than just working. If I planned my time correctly, I could spend way more time with my family and pets and just do the things I enjoy. Also, I love that I can choose what work I want to do and with whom I don’t want to work. I have a choice and I choose things which make me happy.

To be completely honest I feel a little bit tired of constantly traveling because for the past two years I traveled full time and changed my living place every 1 to 3 months. But traveling was the thing I always dreamt as a girl and while solo traveling I proved myself that I can literally do anything and I am in control of my happiness. This is a lesson which I had to learn to improve more.

What skills do you need to become a digital nomad?

  • The most important skills I believe are time management and planning because you are your own boss and you control the situation. If your plan is bad then you will not get paid, easy right?
  • Also, it is important to know how to have awkward difficult conversations. For example, negotiating for your payment or reminding a company that they forgot to pay you. For me, it helps when I think it’s just business and nothing personal and it doesn’t affect me emotionally.
  • Another skill you should have is Googling or searching for information which you don’t know and trust me at the beginning you will not know so many things.
